Being inclusive and welcoming creates space for everyone to participate.
When knowledge is held by only a few people, or when the city’s processes are designed in ways that exclude people, you end up with the same few people involved over and over. In order to create real community connections, the council needs to expand that circle and make space for everyone to participate.

Resilient sustainability means maintaining public spaces and services while also preparing for the future. That means caring for the people who live in Maywood Park, and for the trees and land entrusted to this city; it means adding green infrastructure, sewers, traffic calming.

Responsible Budgeting
Your city budget should be easy to access and easy to understand. You should know how your tax dollars are being spent and you should have a meaningful opportunity to weigh in on how those resources are allocated.
In recent years, the TSCC has flagged that Maywood Park has drawn down its reserves. If that trend continues, it could limit the city’s ability to meet its basic obligations and respond to unexpected needs.
