I'm running for city council because I believe Maywood Park should work for everyone. 

I live in Maywood Park with my wife, my adult children, and numerous pets. We were looking for a home that could fit all of us as we grew older and instantly fell for Maywood Park's trees and character, and it's become home in every sense.

After 15 years of nursing I've learned to make hard decisions calmly with incomplete information.

Being a union steward with the Oregon Federation of Nurses and Health Professionals (AFT Local 5017) has taught me how to listen to competing interests and find workable agreements.

I worked with AmeriCorps VISTA and Habitat for Humanity, fundraising for those of us in need and building homes alongside neighbors.

As a queer, trans person I’ve volunteered at Basic Rights Oregon events, Unite gatherings, the AIDS walk, and more. I have served on grant committees and was once President of Nursing Mothers Counsel of Oregon.

Maywood Park is more than just the city council.

 

Maywood is every person who has picked up trash along the bike path. Every person who has cooked for their neighbors on the Fourth of July. Everyone who has written an email about something they care about, or brought a concern to the council. It’s every person who walks, bikes and rides here. Every person willing to show up and turn a wrench, because they care. It's everyone who might be too busy to come to a meeting, but still wants to be involved.
